Air Blow
is it normal for my vacuum to blow hot air?
so i have never noticed this before, but yesterday i stood in front of my vacuum while it was on, and i notice some hot air blowing from the front, right below the canister… is this normal?
Megan,
What kind of vacuum do you own? There are several models that do have vents on the front in the area you described, and yes the air is typically warmer when it comes out of the vent while vacuuming. This is because the air get heated as it travels through the system.
You can tell if the vacuum is supposed to have a vent just by looking at it – there will be little slits that are obviously designed for air flow. If you feel the air it too hot, then check and see if there is a filter or bag that needs to be cleaned, or if you have a clog (good thing to check for anyways if you haven’t in a while). Any of these can restrict the airflow and cause the vacuum motor to work too hard – thus blowing hotter than normal air.
