Pipe Drain

Can cold temperatures affect how pipes drain?
It doesn’t really make sense to me, unless there’s grease or something that hardens and then clogs easily when its cold.
Anyway, I’ve got a small house so don’t have too much drain pipe in the house. The sink in the bathroom last winter and the kitchen sink last winter both quit draining or drain very slowly. Plumbers snaked the drain last year and it was fine until about a month ago when the bathroom sink started getting slow again. Now its really cold and only the bath sink isn’t draining really at all it seems. I’ve done the vinegar trick in the drains without any improvement. So does the cold have any affect or is it just coincidence?
Is your bathroom sink against an outside wall? Could be that water in the trap is freezing.
If there’s a closed cabinet underneath the sink, leave the doors open for a while and see if that makes a difference.
