I want to flush all the fuilds in my car. My car is a 1999 honda civic

- i want to do tranny but i heard you have to go to honda so i might wait on that.
am i missing any
was wondering how much this will run me?
also wondering if i missed any fluids?
also is their a term i use when i start shopping around.. like maybe say a complete system flush or something?
Ok, I’ll take a crack at this one.
First, I need to ask “Why?”. The oil, engine coolant, brake fluid and transmission are part of the regular service. I will assume that the car is recently purchased.
Brake fluid can be an easy change, but if it is done, it needs to be done right, and must be drained out of all four corners of the car, this should take between 1 and 2 hours. The fluid should run you no more than $20. Don’t even try having this done at a minute lube shop. While the wheels are off of your car, they will probably do a brake inspection (for free) and tell you what needs to be done to make the car safe.
Power steering fluid, though probably not needed, will take about an hour. It can be done at the same time as the brake fluid change. It should cost about $20-$25 in fluid (no more).
Radiator (coolant) flush and fill is also about an hour. Easy job, $30 bucks for the fluid.
Transmission fluid and filter change (if it is an auto transmission) is a real pain, and it might not help you. Some people say that changing transmission fluid on an older car that has not been regularly maintained might cause it to fail earlier. I don’t know, bought an older car, I would probably have the transmission fluid changed. I’ve never done it on a Honda, so I don’t know how much it would cost. Probably 1 1/2 hours, $50 in fluids??
Call around, but go to a shop that you can trust (ask friends). My guess (for everything but transmission) is 4-5 hour at the going rate (here it’s $80/h) plus about $100 in fluids and filters (more or less). So, we are talking about $500, maybe less if you can talk them into a deal (the low man will be doing the work.
